•WEAX (Weather Forecast)
-If you request WEAX along your PIM (Plan of Intended Movement), you will
get daily weather forecasts for your location and forecasts up to 72 hours out,
from your closest METOC Center.


•OTSR (Optimum Track Ship Routing)
-Requested to the Fleet Weather Center (FWC-N/SD) 7-10 days prior to u/w for
voyages >1500 NM.

, -Every day at 0800 local, the ship sends an updated position and current
weather status. If she will encounter severe weather along the route, FWC will
send her a safer alternate route to follow.


•Logistics Request (LOGREQ) message
-Routed through every Department Head
-Submitted prior to arrival/departure in a port
-Indicates what services you will require
Includes, ETA, ETD, fuel, water, food, tug and pilot services, etc


•Navigation Brief (NAV Brief)
-Given to all concerned watch standers involved in a Sea & Anchor detail within
24 hours of the detail being set.
-Written and briefed by Navigator, with contributions by the 1st LT, Operations
Officer, and Chief Engineer. Signed by the Commanding Officer.
-Retained onboard for 1 year
