, Beliefs and Values
As nurses, we each have personal beliefs and values that we adhere
to and which guide our nursing practice. It may not always be easy to forgo
our personal opinions on a situation, but we must be open to the different
views of the patients we treat as nurses. What may be important to me may
not be important to my patient and their family which is important to
remember when making a treatment plan for my patient. The purpose of this
assignment is to explore my own values and beliefs related to family nursing Figure 1
and family health promotion. In this journal, I will review the three patients I
would choose and the three patients I would prefer not to care for if I was
given the choice of my patient assignment. I will include my reasoning and
assumptions of each selected patient and the nursing assessment I would
perform regarding each scenario. Finally, I will discuss the family health
promotion models and strategies and models that I would incorporate for
each patient and their family related to their unique scenario. Why a Journal?
I choose to do a journal reflection instead of a
PowerPoint because I am more familiar with designing
pages on a word document. I do not know how to use
the voiceover feature on PowerPoint, and I felt I could
