BTEC level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport Unit 5: Sports Coaching

Assignment 2 - Plan, Deliver & Evaluate coaching - Task 3
Strengths/ weakness and areas for improvements
I think the planning went well as I have managed to complete the session, also I have
managed to deliver everything from the plan that was put in the session plan. Which I think
is good because this allowed me to hit the session goals and my personal goal as a coach.
The development plan is done to highlight the key areas on where someone has gone and
done correct things that can be key strengths. Which can be taken from the session and
keep on applying it to different session’s as it is a positive thing as it is strengths which make
a successful session.
Most importantly in a development plan, you can review your mistakes which are and can
be a weakness and having the ability to see them and then change them for better, when
applying it to different sessions. Which will result in delivering a better session as you will be
making fewer mistakes. Because you can improve from last time and eliminate the mistakes.
The two strengths that I can take from the session are:
Organisation
I was organised before the session started, as I set up equipment before even the session
began, which is good in my opinion because when the session started we could all get right
into it. As there was no wasting time trying to set up the equipment in the middle of the
session. When the session begins this would be waste of time, also show that am not
organised or prepared as well it would show that am unprofessional which would later leave
a bad impression of me to the participates. Most, importantly it would take a lot of time and
would affect the hall of the session as we would not able to go through all parts of the
session. Which would affect the outcome of goals that have been set at the start of the
session for the participates and the coach. Which could have resulted in another weakness,
however, that was avoided. Therefore, it is a strength of myself that I was well organised.
Another way that you could keep up on being organised, is not just be applying it to the
sports sessions. But you could apply this to different things such as college classes for
example come in 10 minutes earlier have pen and paper ready when you need it in the
lesson to get notes wrote down. Getting ready a day earlier so on the next day you don’t
after stress and rush to get everything you need for the day which will help you in
preventing you in losing thing or forgetting thing on the day. Also, it could be boxing training
come in 15 minutes earlier get your hand raps on and be ready before the session starts.
Which this will result in being prepared also ready for the session that starts and you don’t
miss out on anything. Which is being organised as the same principal just in a different
scenario that can be applied most of should be applied to help you be organised and
prepared for everything.
