over goods and lands. Real estate law is the most common example;
however, this area also includes landlord and tenant law.

Civil Law is equivalent to Private Law, but in Quebec the entire law is based
on the Civil Code based on the Code of Napolean(a set of predetermined,
written laws that govern all actions).
