instead would try to softly and rationally speak to his daughter and apparently they are now closer than

, Sacha: .. instead of murdering them in cold blood - ✔✔As, see when I listened to Jesse Parent's poem
when you sent me a clip last week, I felt the humor with the toy gun and his inflection more than the
murdering.
Sacha: ..use of hyperboles to show humor - ✔✔I see that. That's really unique how he takes something
that gives off of a mood of murder and changes it to something humorous and entertaining through the
use of figurative language.
Alec: ... convey an impact through her change of language - ✔✔What impact? I have seen some of Sarah
Kay's previous work, and I believe I have come across this before. When I saw it, the impact and mood
that was brought about in this poem for me was inspiring through her uses of imagery and metaphors.
Alec: ...when she constantly faces the negative aspects of it. - ✔✔One of my favorite things about Sarah
Kay's poem was the part where she mentioned Wonder Woman which was alluding to a female
empowerment that would be there for her daughter
Alec: perfect superhero to save her - ✔✔I see that and i think what she's trying to say is that while there
isn't a superhero there for her daughter, she herself will be there to give a lending and guiding hand
Sacha: ... life punching "you" in the face and not having mercy - ✔✔The use of personifying life really
creates this mood of negativity that is present in our life right now. And while that is true, I believe that
the point she's trying make is that albeit the world hurting you, it's also great. Like when Sarah talks

Sacha: .. catch what you said about sugar. - ✔✔I got this! I actually really enjoyed this metaphor
comparing the world to sugar. In that line, Sarah says that the world is like sugar and how it can easily
crumble--
