Use of resources that are offered as services over the internet and that are shared.

Data and processing power will always be accessible no matter the physical

Online storage – file syncing
e.g., iCloud, OneDrive
Store files on internet; specify which files
Access from multiple device
Share with others
Duplicate copy offsite.
Most have a web interface: browser to access files
Custom app: manages syncing
Free for limited amount of storage
Online storage – backup
Meant to be accessed after disaster, not a virtual hard drive
Automated schedules
Add duplicate files as they change, can go back to previous versions
