20th Century - Answer-1900-2000. A big push to do something new.

Claude Debussy - Answer-1862-1910 Link between the Romantic Era and the 20th
Century. Best known for character pieces. Clair de lune & le Mer

Twentieth century orchestra - Answer-Could contain anything! Electronic instruments,
radios, etc.

Wind Ensemble - Answer-Contain no strings. Concert band or symphonic band are
other names.

Impressionism - Answer-A style of music in which the composer was trying to convey an
impression of something. This was not program music, per se , because it did not
attempt to tell a story. Dream like in quality. Note clusters, unusual scales (whole tone
scales (no half-steps)), and static harmony (no dominant and tonic tension)

Tonality - Answer-when a particular piece of music has a tonal center, or is written in a
specific key
