However, I would ensure that the authorities know that it was an honest mistake and ask them to

take that into consideration when choosing a fair punishment for my student.

You are an Uber driver because you are trying to make some extra money. One night at 2am you

take 3 men home who appear to be intoxicated. When you drop them off they appear to be

heading to their car. What do you do?

Tell me about a time that you made a mistake at work? While working as a new server at a

restaurant, during a very hectic and busy moment, I accidentally gave a customer the wrong take

out bag. When the next customer came in to pick up her food very shortly after, I realized that I

had given her food away to a different customer. I apologized profusely and explained what had

happened to my supervisor and to the chef, who started to make the customer's meal right away.

My supervisor told me to give the customer a discount, which made the customer more patient

and understanding and rectified any ill feelings she may have towards our establishment. Moving

forward, I realized it was important to focus on each customer and take a few extra moments to

ensure that everyone was receiving the correct order by looking inside of the bag instead of

trying to get everything done as fast as possible. I also learned that I should always come clean

and tell my supervisor if I make a mistake in order for him to rectify the situation.

What is the greatest challenge you have ever faced and what did you do to overcome it?

When I was in high school, my mother tried to commit suicide. This was a very

challenging situation for me, as I am very close to my mother and have seen her battle with

depression, Post-traumatic stress disorder, and alcoholism. Although I could not change the

situation and what had happened, I wanted to take action to prevent anything like this from

happening again. I signed my sister and I up for a course that taught us about PTSD and how to

better support our mother through tough times. We attended family counseling with my mother

to discuss any challenges and how to overcome them together as a family. I overcame this

challenge in my life by learning more about my mother's diagnoses and coping mechanisms to

help us overcome challenges as a family. By learning and gaining more information, I felt more

in control of the situation and better equipped to handle crises.

Have you ever been at odds with a coworker? How did you handle this?

Describe a time when you used teamwork to solve a problem. While working in a special

education classroom as a residential youth counselor, I worked along side the educational

assistant (EA) and the special education teacher. We had been experiencing a lot of behavioural

challenges among the students and a lot of disruptions in the classroom lessons. The EA ,

teacher, and I sat down together to come up with a solution to the challenges we had been

experiencing in the classroom. We decided to take on a trauma-informed teaching approach, as

the students had been separated from their homes and families when placed in residential care.

As a team, we focused on building trusting relationships with the students and on maintaining

consistency and structure throughout the school day. As their educators, it was important for us

to be on the same page and work collaboratively towards the shared goal of contributing to their

sense of well-being and belonging in the classroom.

Describe a past situation in which your ethics were challenged While working as a

residential care worker at a group home, I worked with a colleague who I suspected was being

aggressive with the residents as I saw bruises on the children's arms from when she would grab

them. Seeing as she was a very senior worker and I was a new co-op student, I was very hesitant

at first to say anything in case my suspicions were incorrect. I decided to monitor more closely

and I spoke with a trusted colleague to gain some greater insight into the situation. I knew it was

my obligation and ethical duty to report this information to my supervisor, as my role was to

protect the well-being of the children in my care. My supervisor was able to investigate the

situation more thoroughly and handle it using her professional judgment.

Describe one time when your boss had to confront you about an issue with your work My

first job when I was twelve years old was working at a barn mucking horse stalls. After a few

weeks, my boss told me that I needed to expedite the time it took me to complete all of the barn

chores in order to bring the horses in before it got dark outside. I had not realized that I had less

time to complete all of the chores in the winter, as the days became shorter. To solve this

problem, I made a list of all of the jobs that were pertinent and needed to be done before the
