P4: The Bijenkorf
Explain how organisations obtain the cooperation of their employees

In this assignment I am going to explain how organisations obtain the
cooperation of their employees. The company which I have chosen for this
assignment is The Bijenkorf.

What is contract employment?

A contract employment is an agreement specifying terms and conditions under
which a person agrees to perform work for the employer in return for wage
salary. This can either be oral or written or be expressed or implied. When a
new person comes to work, they will have to sign a contract which has the
terms and conditions for the job and will consent to perform certain duties.

Types of contract employment at The Bijenkorf

Permanent contract

The Bijenkorf offers permanent types of contract for different types of roles.
For example The Bijenkorf will offer a permanent contract to a department
manager who is good at their job. They want to make sure that the employee
sticks with them for a longer time than usual that is why they offer a
permanent contract to these types of employees. A permanent contract must
include personal information of the employee, information about the
employer, job description, date of employment, pay rate or pay raise, sick pay
and working hours. These are the main things but there are still a lot of things
which are on a permanent contract.

Temporary contract

The Bijenkorf offers a temporary contract to employees who need to be
employees for a temporary time. These types of contracts are usually given to
sales staff, because if it gets busy in specific periods like in the summer they can
easily contact the employees with temporary contracts to work for a few
weeks, months or hours. This type of contract is also usually given to
employees who need to be replaced temporarily. The reason for a temporarily
replacement could be that the worker is sick for a longer period or maybe if a
women leaves with maternity leave. The last one is mostly the reason for a
temporarily contract.
