1. Elimination of the Hazard: - ANS-highest degree of safety from a dangerous publicity
-substitute a much less toxic substance for the unsafe fabric
-no longer feasible with drug therapy
2. Engineering Controls - ANS-second highest level of safety
-use of machines or equipment that isolate or incorporate the hazard to lessen worker exposure
-Examples: biosafety cabinets and closed-gadget drug-transfer devices
