BSW - answer prepares an individual for generalist social work practice
primarily in all entry level human
service agencies. Includes generalist practice competencies and practice
behaviors.
MSw - answer prepares an individual for generalist social work practice
and with advanced knowledge and practice through a concentration or
specialization. Includes
generalist practice competencies and practice behaviors during the first
year of a traditional MSW program, and competencies and
advanced practice behaviors during the second year of a
traditional MSW program. Prepares individuals for practice in all settings,
including licensed clinical social work, supervisory, clinical supervisory,
and administrative or management positions.
DSW - answer prepares an individual for teaching and research in a
college or university setting.
CSWE - answer national accrediting body in the United States for all BSW,
*Advanced Standing MSW (*1 year MSW
programs only available to persons who have BSWs from accredited BSW
programs;) and MSW programs. (Ph.D. and DSW programs are
reviewed by respective their university graduate schools and
university-systems).
LCSWs - answer can only be pursued after completing an MSW from an
accredited MSW Program. In North
Carolina, the Board is known as the North Carolina Social Work
Certification and Licensure Board (NCSWCLB). In NC, must pass an exam,
