-Propaganda minister; Goebbels
-Effective propaganda campaign
-Used alongside the SA; to promote law and order; necessary
to pull Germany out of the depression, and take down
propaganda attempts from political rivals, such as the
communists
-Aimed to gain support from all members of society
-Show the effects of Communism on business; attracting
support from the aristocracy and industrialists, as they did not
want to lose their wealth, and supported the abolishment of
trade unions and strikes
-Use of “scapegoats”; blame the Weimar and Jew’s for the loss
of WW1 and signing of the TOV, known as “Big Lie”, where a
known falsehood is stated, repeated and treated as if it is self-
evidently true
- “Arbeit und Brot” (Work for bread), slogan, showed how
Hitler would bring employment and jobs for the German
people to survive
- He was also able to play to German nationalism by claiming
how badly the Allies mistreated the nation after WW1, as
there had always been an underlying resent within the society,
gaining him support since he proposed revenge as the solution
to their problems, appealing to those who felt the T.O.V was
unfair, as they knew he would bring Germany back to its
supreme state by bringing order to the nation.
