- The distribution of the people on our planet is very uneven.
o Population distribution means the patron of where people live.
- Some places in the world has many densely populated areas. This means that many people
live close to each other.
o For example Norway is a sparsely populated area, this means that on one kilometer
not many people live.
- If you want to show the population distribution on a map you first have to measure the
population density.
o This calculation show how many people live in a square kilometer.
 If you divide the inhabitants by the surface you know the population density.

Historical reasons for population distribution


- There are different reasons for the way people are distributed over the planet. Physical
conditions were the most important reason.

world
