1. Describe the situation and problem that needs improvement.
Patients feel that nurses are unprofessional and the nursing staff does not have
time to care or listen to them. The nursing staff needs to improve their
professionalism and be attentative to the needs of the patients. The nursing staff
needs to spend more time providing quality care with the patients.
2. Describe the change that should be implemented. (For Week 6 only, provide one
scholary source supporting the intervention. Provide reference at the end of this
worksheet.)
Nurses' ethical competencies should be up to date with online module refreshers
every 6 months. Nurses need reminders that their own feelings and ego need to
be set aside and they need to act for their clients' benefit, wherein an appropriate
workload and warm human relationships with one's colleagues are essential.
Nurses should thus receive education on ethics and professionalism and
participate in volunteer and leisure activities that cultivate their degree of
empathy (Kwisoon et al.,2022)
