In this assignment I will be producing a staff training manual in which I will describe
the features and factors of two destinations. The two destinations are Paris and Cala
Major in Mallorca. I will then go on to describe how the destination appeals to visitor
types and will then suggest recommendations that will help to improve the
destination and attract more customers.
Paris
Accessibility
Paris has many different forms of accessibility. The first is Air. The flight time from
Manchester is 1 hour and 30 minutes to Paris. They can cost between £69 and
£135. Airlines that fly to Paris include Flybe, Air France and EasyJet. This would
meet the needs of families as the flight duration is not very long and therefore
families with young children will find it easier to travel. The second way to access
Paris is by rail. The train journey between London and Paris is between 2 hours and
27 minutes. The prices include £58 second class return and £112 first class return.
Another way to travel to Paris is by road. The road journey is 9 hours and 22 minutes
and a total of 507 miles. Another way to travel to Paris is by sea is by the ferry. The
price can cost from £32. The sailing duration is 1 hour and 30 minutes. This overall
shows how accessible Paris is as you can get to it from all forms of transport with
ease and it is not far from the UK.
Climate
The month with the most hours of sunshine in Paris is July. The following graph
shows the different hours of shine month by month
The sunshine will be good for families with young children as they can enjoy the nice
weather.
