Considered a Crisis if:
1. A precipitation event
2. a perception of the event that leads to distress
3. Diminshed functioning when the distress is not alleviated by coping
mechanisms and other resources
James and Gilliland: A crisis is: a perception or experiencing of an event or
situation as an intolerable difficulty that exceeds the persons current resource
and coping mechanisms.

tasks
