Lijn-staforganisatie (H 3.8)
Bij bedrijven die groter worden is de vraag gebruiken we de specialistische kennis van
externe deskundigen of zetten we een eigen stafafdeling op. Dan is er sprake van een lijn-
staforganisatie.
De staf levert advies en als versterking van de leiding. Dit heeft dezelfde voordelen als een
lijnorganisatie. (Iedereen heeft één chef die de opdrachten geeft en de controle op correcte
uitvoering daarvan uitoefent.) De eenheid van bevel blijft immers gehandhaafd en daarmee
de duidelijkheid in de gezagsverhoudingen. Een nadeel is dat de lijnfunctionaris te
afhankelijk wordt van de staf.
Stafdiensten versus hulpdiensten
Hulpdiensten bieden specialistische ondersteuning aan de leiding van andere afdelingen.
Ze hebben geen gezag, maar functionele zeggenschap. Dit houdt in dat er sprake is van een
functionele relatie. Dit houdt in dat dwingend kan worden voorgeschreven hóé iets gedaan
moet worden, niet dát iets gedaan moet worden. Het grote voordeel hierbij is high efficiency.
Echter wordt de eenheid van bevel doorbroken.
Matrixorganisatie (H 3.8)
Gaat vooral om projectgroepen. Het tijdelijk
bij elkaar plaatsen van benodigde mensen om
te zorgen dat de efficiency en slagvaardigheid
hoog blijft.
Je kan zo goed afdeling overschrijdend
werken, maar er kunnen sneller en makkelijker
conflicten ontstaan. Wanneer alle
bevoegdheden aan de projectleider worden
gegeven is er weer sprake van een zuivere
projectstructuur.
