A1C Hemoglobin - ANS-checks your glucose over 3 months
Addison's - ANS-- corticosteroid insufficiency
- symptoms because body is slowing down
Addison's: Medication - ANS-Hydrocortisone - has salt and sugar
Fludrocortisone - has minerals
Adrenal Crisis - ANS-body is completely shutting down due to untreated addison's
Cushing's Disease - ANS-- Pituitary Tumor
- Increased ACTH, cortisol, urine free cortisol and plasma cortisol
Cushing's Syndrome - ANS-- caused by drugs or adrenal issue
- only difference is the ACTH is low
Cushing's Treatment - ANS-- low fluid and sodium intake
- may need calcium, brittle bones
- if you aren't removing (treat symptoms)
Dawn - ANS-- hyperglycemic all night
- give insulin at night
Diabetes Symptoms - ANS-- polyuria (pee)
- polydypsia (drink)
- polyphagia (eat)
Diabetes: Diagnosis - ANS-- A1C Hemoglobin is <6.5
- Glucose Stick (random) if over 200 w/ symptoms
- Fasting Blood Glucose >126
- Oral Glucose Tolerance <200
Diabetic Ketoacidosis - ANS-- usually in type 1
- blood glucose 350-600
- dehydrated
- ketones and glucose in urine
- frequent urination
