Cardiovascular- Anatomy exam review 2024
Aorta - the body's largest artery. Takes oxygenated blood from the left ventricle to
the body.
Pulmonary Artery - carries deoxygenated blood from the right ventricle to the
lungs.
Right Artrium - Receives deoxygenated blood from the body
Left Ventricle - Pumps oxygenated blood into the aorta
Right Ventricle - pumps deoxygenated blood into the pulmonary artery
Bicuspid Valve - valve between the left atrium and the left ventricle.
Tricuspid Valve - valve between the right atrium an the right ventricle.
Vena Cava - the largest vein in the body, it carries blood from the body back to the
heart.
Arteries - Carries blood AWAY from the heart
, Cardiovascular- Anatomy exam review 2024
Veins - Carries blood TOO the heart
Coronary vessels - Supply the heart with its blood supply
Pulmonary Vein - Large blood vessels that receive oxygenated blood from the
lungs and drain into the left atrium of the heart
Left Atrium - Receives oxygenated blood from the pulmonary veins, and pumps it
into the left ventricle
Pulmonary Valve - one of two valves that allow blood to leave the heart via the
arteries. It is a one-way valve. Blood cannot flow back into the heart through it.
Arotic valve - one of the two semilunar valves of the heart, the other being the
pulmonary valve.
Left Auricles - It collects oxygenated blood as it leaves the lungs and moves the
blood into the left ventricle.
