The garment industry is constantly confronted with issues and surprises in their supply chain.
Eliminating these issues and establishing corporate social responsibility is of substantial importance
for all companies in order to be in line with the ethical standards of sustainability. The cotton industry
is the most widespread profitable non-food crop worldwide[ CITATION WWF19 \l 1043 ]. In the
analysis, we are going to look at one of the big players in the garment industry, which we all know, as
Primark.
We, from Monzigh Sustainable Inc. are writing to inform and assist you towards a more responsible
supply chain of your cotton jeans. We are going to analyze your supply chain from your point of view
but also through external sources and focus on points of improvement for your value chain, mainly in
your cotton supply. We understand your position as powerhouse in the fast fashion industry, therefore
we believe through our analysis that we can add that extra value to your cotton supply. We love
Primark just as much as her customers do and therefore our project will contain the following research
and sub-questions:
Research question: “What is the current process, approach and impact of Primark regarding their
cotton value/supply chain sustainable and how does it work?”
Sub-questions:
1. How does the cotton supply chain of Primark function?
2. The business strategy regarding the supply chain of Primark and the social, environmental
and economic impacts?
3. What are the challenges and issues Primark could face through their value chain approach?
And what are the current issues regarding the supply chain?
4. What stage of sustainable business is Primark in and what attitude do they use towards their
supply chain?
