Child Abuse i. Divorce and separation effects the family structure where parents live their different lives and children forced to live with one parent. Children in many instances face many challenges as a result of this change in their families. They get stressed and even do not know who to turn to, they are affected physically, emotionally and psychologically. Conflict arises between parents on who will take the children and even division of responsibilities since there is no unity anymore. Divorce and separations between married couples cause low self-esteem to parents and serious pain that may affect them socially and mentally. This can make either parent express the anger and stress to their children. This will make innocent children suffer and even see as if they are not loved and their parents do not care about their wellbeing and their feelings (Borgman et al, 1979) pg. 48. A parent may think that the partner living with children is mistreating the children from their past experiences. In this case a conflict professional should be involved to ensure that children are not being abused in any way. The conflict worker should not take sides by showing favour to either of the parents. To ensure the safety of the children they should carefully observe the relationship between a parent and children, children behaviour around a parent and even interview children to ensure that they are treated appropriately by the parent living with them. ii. Drug abuse is another behaviour that can make parents neglect their parenthood and even make them abuse their children. A parent can start using drug from life frustrations and to help them hide their emotions. The use can make a parent lose their self-control and become very aggressive, torturing family members’ emotions and physically through
