What is a transaction? - ANS-An event that involves multiple actions that must all succeed or all
fail. The actions which are performed in a transaction create and/or modify data.

What is reliability? - ANS-A characteristic of TPS ensuring that it is up and running so that
transactions could be completed.

What is rapid response? - ANS-A characteristic of TPS ensuring that it responds quickly to data
requests.

What is Controlled Processing? - ANS-A characteristic of TPS ensuring that the processing of a
system supports and compliments the organisation's operations.

What does data integrity include? - ANS-ACID

What is atomicity? - ANS-Transaction should occur completely or it should be undone
completely.

What is consistency? - ANS-Each step of the transaction is carried out in the same way each
time so data is correct for each part of the transaction.

What is isolation? - ANS-Transaction must be dependent of each other so the saved data in not
treated twice (locking the record being processed).

What is Real Time Processing? - ANS-The consecutive and electronic processing of data as it
occurs in order to generate systematic output used to analyze system functions and ongoing
actions.

What is batch processing? - ANS-A batch of requests is stored and then executed all at once. A
transaction processing system collects, stores the details of a transaction,with processing and
modification occurring at a later time.

What does ACID stand for? - ANS-Atomacity, Consistency, Isolation and Durability

What is Incremental Backup? - ANS-Is a type of backup that only backups files that have been
changed and is the one that only backups data since the last full or incremental backup.
