Dysrhythmia Exam
Atrial Fibrillation (A-Fib) - atrial flutter - baseline looks like sawtooth First degree AV block - elongated PR interval juntional rhythm - rate is 40-60; no P wave or inverted normal sinus rhythm (NSR) - Premature Atrial Contraction (PAC) - p wave occurs earlier than the next expected sinus P wave; underlying rhythm premature ventricular contraction (PVC) - QRS is wide and bizarre; underlying rhythm second degree AV block type 1 - PR gradually lengthens before QRS is dropped Second Degree AV Block Type 2 - PR is constant beore QRS is dropped Sinus Arrhythmia - Sinus Bradycardia - sinus tachycardia - Supraventricular Tachycardia (SVT) - an abnormal heart rhythm arising from aberrant electrical activity in the heart; originates at or above the AV node Third degree AV block - no relationship between P wave and QRS Ventricular fibrillation (V-fib) - no distinct QRS ventricular tachycardia
