testosterone (T) to Estradiol. T can be transported into Sertoli cells, which will be
converted to estradiol (made in both cell types) and dihydrotestosterone (which affects
behavior).
In response to FSH acting on Sertoli cells, inhibin will be made, which causes negative
feedback on AP to stop FSH production. There always needs to be some FSH, because
if there was 0 then spermatogensis will be stopped completely.
how does dihydrotestosterone (DHT), estradiol, and testosterone (T) sffect the brain? -
ANS-all have negative feedback on hypothalamus to suppress GnRH production (to
keep at sufficient rates).
T is metabolized and when the T levels are low, the hypo. produces more from the tonic
center. When T is high it will suppress GnRH and when T is low, GnRH is no longer
blocked.
