How useful McDonalds has used motivation techniques.
As everybody knows the job in McDonalds does not have very good reputation and I
think it is because they use motivational theory such as Frederick Winslow Taylor –
Scientific Method. Motivation theories as Taylors one is getting old in 21 century.
And the main motivational theory, which McDonalds use, is Taylor’s motivational
theory which is the main problem in McDonalds. McDonalds’ employee turnover for
2018 is 150% which means, if there are 20 workers in one McDonalds restaurant
they going to be changed and then 50 percent of the new 20th workers are going to
be replaced either, for every 20 workers in a restaurant McDonalds get 30 new
employees ever year. Does not sound like, McDonalds are doing well with its
employee’s motivation. The employees in McDonalds are getting paid very low and
the job is really stressing, but to have that high employee turnover McDonalds
should have many applicants, because the employee turnover is when an employee
leaves the job and another employee is coming to his position. So to have so many
applicants, McDonalds may do something right, in its motivational techniques.
McDonalds use 2 other motivational techniques, whose make the company attractive
so many people and so many candidates apply for position in McDonalds.
McDonalds use motivation theories such as Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and
Herzberg’s Two Factor Theory, whose is good reason for young people to apply for a
job in McDonalds. Only ¼ of McDonald’s employees work full time which means ¾ of
its employees are working part time. Providing flexible working time is something
which students will really appreciate. Not only university students but also college
and school students, McDonalds is perfect for gaining work experience for students.
8% of UK population are between 16-25 years old, which means 5,350.000 people
would be interested to work in McDonalds and they are all people who will
appreciate the flexible time. The flexible time is coming from Maslow’s Hierarchy of
Needs and is the and it is providing love through providing opportunity to young
people with difficulty to find part time job with opportunities for future growth in the
company. McDonalds also make its employment to feel accomplished through the
reward system they provide, which again is coming from Maslow’s Hierarchy of
Needs.

What other theories can McDonalds use, to future improve employee
motivation and how that can help the business growth.
To reduce its turnover McDonalds will have to reduce using motivation theories such
as Frederick Winslow Taylor – Scientific Method and to emphasize on motivation
theories as Elton Mayo’s Theory of Motivation because as I said upper the Taylors
motivation theory is getting old in today’s world and the potential employees don’t
really like it and they are trying to avoid it. People mainly leave the job in McDonalds
because of that it does not worth. McDonalds have many strengths such as save
working condition, friendly staff and providing opportunity for growing and flexible
working time but people cannot pay their bills with those things. People need to be
better paid and less stressed in their workplace. McDonalds employees are working
really hard and under pressure all the time for very little money. As Elton Mayo says
