In these tasks I will be looking at the benefits of the internet marketing for the business and how it is
linked to the marketing mix and the 4Ps. I will be also talking about how effective, efficient and
successful the internet marketing has been for the company.
Wide range of customers
The first benefit of using internet marketing for the businesses is that through the use of online
platforms the company will be able to reach wide range of potential customers. The company will be
able to advertise and promote themselves beyond the local area and by the use of different email
marketing and social media techniques they will achieve presence of the business worldwide,
reaching a wide range of potential clients, helping to improve popularity and image of the company.
For example, Nike has their own website, app, social media platforms and email address, which they
are using to advertise their products and their new exclusive offers and ranges throughout the
internet, which is a benefit for them as they are reaching wide range of custoemrs easily which will
generate more profits and increase the brand awareness of the company. As when one company is
reaching large number of customers, they are benefiting from their popularity and brand awareness
by increasing the sales and profit of the company.
The use of online marketing and advertising by websites, apps, social media is linked to one of the
4Ps, which is promotion. This is linked to promotion because through the use website, social media
and emails, Nike is advertising their company and raising awareness of the brand and their products.
This also connects to product, because by online advertisement the company is reaching wider range
of customers which will be buying more of the products of the company and this will increase the
sales of Nike. I think that Nike is effective in their advertising techniques through the online
platforms as they have released their exclusive app Nike+, which encourages people to sport and
buy the products from the company and now through their app they are advertising their newest
fuelband for the users of the app. This makes the use of website, app and social media very
successful as Nike are now reaching wide range of customers by their adverts which is effective for
them as they are increasing sales and profit of their newest innovations.

The second benefit of using internet for the businesses is cheaper cost for the company. When a
company is using the internet marketing to sell and promote products they will need a less start-up
costs to organise an internet marketing campaign, as they can use blogs, social media networking,
emails etc., which will be a lot more cost effective than the traditional advertisement and the
displays in the physical stores. For example, Nike is using their website and social media to sell and
promote their product lines, the online campaigns and the adverts such as ‘Livestrong’, ‘Fuel your
team’, ‘Free running’ etc., are extremely popular adverts that have benefited Nike as they are only
online campaigns and the company has spent low amount of capital. From the use of online
marketing, the companies will save money on the rent, expenses, staff and the physical store overall
and they will benefit with less costs and better long term successful results for the company revenue
and profits.
