Independent Prescriptive Authority - correct answer This group of prescribers have full prescribing authority that is not limited or dependent on any supervisory practitioner. Medication prescribing, however, must be conducted within the prescriber's scope of practice: a. Physicians (MD, DO) - doctor of medicine - doctor of osteopathy - doctor of podiatric medicine - doctor of dental medicine - doctor of veterinary medicine - psychiatrist - ophthalmologists b.
