PA Property & Casualty - Personal Auto Latest Update Graded A+ Law - Vehicle Financial Responsibility Requires ALL vehicles to be covered for financial responsibility (the ability to respond to damages). Minimum Limits: Split Limits - $15,000.00 for one person in any one accident / $30,000.00 for more than one for any one accident / $5,000.00 for property damage of others in any one accident. Combined Single Limits - $35,000.00. First Party Benefits (Medical) - $5,000.00 Proof of financial responsibility required at all times. Eligibility Ownership: self or jointly owned. Jointly Owned: Husband/wife, 2 or more relatives, 2 or more unrelated required to live together, individual trust owned. Auto: Owned or leased (6 months or more): Private passenger, pickups or van - gross weight of 9,000lbs or less, personal or incidental business, for farming or ranching, trailers. Definitions - Family Member / Trailer Family Member = Who is a resident, no age limit. Trailer = Includes farm wagon. Definitions - Newly Acquired Auto Coverage: begins when you become the owner as long as it is reported it as required. If you do not then coverage will start at the time you report it. Until reported to the insurer - always falls under the broadest coverage that is on the current policy. Liability - FPB and UM/UIM: auto must be acquired during policy, must report within 14DAYS for an additional auto or until end of the policy period for a replacement auto. Collision & Other than Collision: Current coverage on policy - whether additional or replacement 14DAY reporting period. No Current coverage - 4DAY reporting period with $500.00 deductible. Current coverage for OTC but NOT Collision - 14DAY reporting period for OTC and 4DAY reporting period for Collision. PART A - Liability Coverage - Insuring Agreement Pays for damages for injury and damage that is legal obligation of insured. Duty to defend - until limits of policy paid. Defense expenses - pays in addition to limits.
