Notes for Orchestration Class
All undergraduate music students at Eastern Michigan University will at some point take MUSC 413: Orchestration. These were my notes I took for class that I referenced often when making my own musical scores for class. My notes include the score order, the keys and octaves of the many winds and string instruments that might be written into scores, more information about the alto and tenor clefs, string techniques to pay attention to when composing for string instruments (pizzicato, col legno, sul tasto, upbows and downbows, artificial harmonies, etc.). These notes are really everything you could need for this class.
