Responstijd-spiralen
Responstijd-spiralen zijn ongewenste gevolgen van schaal- en kostendenken.
Responstijd-spiralen komen veel voor in traditionele organisaties.

Als de door de klant gewenste levertijd wordt overschreden, dan kiest een bedrijf er
vaak voor om een product op voorraad te produceren. De responstijd-spiraal voor het
op voorraad maken ziet er als volgt uit.




Inaccuraatheid in de prognose leidt uiteindelijk tot spoedorders, door de spoedorders
zullen de reguliere orders achter gaan lopen op het schema.

Het verlengen van doorlooptijden zorgt ervoor dat de afwijkingen in de prognose
groter worden, waardoor er meer spoedorders ontstaan. Daarnaast heeft een order
met een langere doorlooptijd meer kans om onderbroken te worden dn een order met
een korte doorlooptijd.

Bij een bedrijf dat klantspecifieke producten maakt, geldt een andere responstijd-
spiraal. De responstijd-spiraal voor het op order maken ziet er als volgt uit.
