impacting upon the business activities of the selected
organizations and their stakeholders.
For this task in Unit 1, I will be describing the politcal, legal, and social factors that impact
businesses and their stakeholders. I will be using the organizaton Samsung and the Metropolitan
Police as an example for this task and exampling how these factors impact them.
Political factors that afect a business
Decisions that are made relatng to politcs impact businesses in all shapes and forms. This is because
wherever the business, like Samsung and the Metropolitan Police, is set, it must follow every
politcal decision made by the government and make sure they don’t break it. Otherwise, Samsung
and the Metropolitan Police will face charges for breaking the law. On the other hand, if businesses
follow the politcal decisions made by the government, they can run their business in peace without
the government on their tail.
Political Stability
Politcal stability is one factor that can impact businesses like Samsung and the Metropolitan Police.
For example, if a brand-new government has been elected in a country, businesses will need to
consider the future of the business and plan their success alongside the new politcal decision that is
going to be made by the new government. This will mean that Samsung and the Metropolitan Police
may have to change the way they do a thing and readapt to new government rules and regulatons.
This is something good for the business as it allows them to plan and improve their business. The
businesses stakeholders can also be impacted by politcal stability as the business may have to
negotate contracts with their stakeholders, this can cause Samsung and the Metropolitan Police to
lose valuable tme and money.
Government Support
Time to tme, the government likes to help businesses in their country to boost and make money.
This is a factor that can impact Samsung and the Metropolitan Police, but in a good way.
Government tends to mainly support businesses with grants. Grants can support businesses with a
boost of money to help them with anything relatng to money. The money must be used properly as
the government watch how the business spends the grant. If the money isn’t spent how it was
meant to. The government can decide not to ever support the business again. The grant isn’t only for
large businesses but for a business that may want to start. So, the grand can be used there for start-
up costs.
Taxation
Taxaton is another factor that can impact businesses like Samsung and the Metropolitan Police in
many ways. The government establishes taxes on everyone, individuals, and businesses. Many
businesses don’t want to pay tax as it’s an amount of money being taken by the government from
their proft. All business want to maximize proft. The amount of tax that is paid by a business may
be the amount of proft they made. That proft may have had to be used for other things like rent or
used for stakeholder relatng things.
Providing Infrastructure
Governments have the role in providing businesses and organizatons like Samsung and the
Metropolitan Police with long-term physical assets like a building or land for their business. The
government needs to make sure that the area is in a suitable place where the business has access
