Indirect supervision Overseeing an assistant's work by working in the immediate area Indirect supervision duties Dentist must be in the office area but not necessarily present in the same room as the aux, dentist must be available to evaluate procedure. Personal Supervision while the dentist is personally treating a patient, the dental hygienist is authorized to aid in the treatment by concurrently performing a supportive procedure Performs charting, perform initial and periodic exams and assessments to determine periodontal status and formulate treatment plan in coordination with the dentists plan.
