6.1 Een ‘werken voor’- en een ‘werken met’-leerklimaat (Kohn)
‘Werken voor’-leerklimaat  De docent en leerlingen staan niet met elkaar in
verbinding. Leerlingen zijn afhankelijk van de docent en de docent bepaalt alles.

6.2 Drie basisbehoeften
Deci en Stevens omschrijven leerklimaat helder: ‘dat wat leerlingen nodig hebben om
optimaal te functioneren’. Zij benoemen drie basisbehoeften die geldend zijn bij
leerprocessen: autonomie, relatie en competentie.
1. Autonomie ‘Ik kan het zelf!’
2. Relatie ‘Ik hoor erbij!’
3. Competentie ‘Ik kan het!’
