Military Appearance Program Exam Questions And Answers Commander's MAP (Military Appearance Program) - ANS Marines come in all different shapes and sizes. As such, Commanders retain the right to evaluate whether or not a Marine, even if they fall within height and weight and BC standards, should be assigned to an MAP. Such an assignment would normally be oriented towards wight redistribution. If a formal assignment is deemed necessary, the Commander will provide the necessary resources, counseling and unit diary entries. If a Marine does not show progress while on the program, reenlistment and promotion opportunities can be denied. To maintain fairness and impartiality, Marines assigned to the MAP have the right to appeal their status to the next higher officer in the CoC. MAP Formal Program - ANS OICs possessing Special courts - martial convening authority will conduct a MAP assessment and make a formal assignment determination. Assessments will include a review of all relevant MAP documentation and OIC summer service 'C' uniform inspection. OICs use the MAP eval form to notify Marines of their initial 60 day formal MAP assignment. Because of the INTRINSIC LINK between the BCP and MAP, Marines who do not present a suitable military appearance will be evaluated by medical prior to MAP formal assignment in order to rule out the possibility of an underlying condition or disease as a primary causal factor behind the improper weight distribution.
