Ziconotide is a drug that can reduce severe, constant pain. Ziconotide blocks the calcium ion channels at some of the synapses which use glutamate. The transmission of glutamate at synapses is similar to that of acetylcholine. Explain how ziconotide reduces severe, constant pain.
