Planning for a career is important, and people will need to be able to identfy diferent resources,
using threm to hrelp threm gain employment in a certain job role. As threse diferent resources afect all
businesses diferently, some will not be applicable for some people in job roles.

Employment agencies are companies whrichr act as intermediaries between organisatons whrichr are
looking to employ someone, and an individual withr thre correct skills whro is looking for employment.
Thre role of thre employment agency is to source thre most suitable worker for thre job vacancy whrichr
threy hrave been asked to fll. Threse agencies can act online thrroughr a website as well as in a store,
withr workers visitng to identfy thre latest vacancies. Thre advantage of an employment agency is thrat
threy hrave many diferent employers looking for jobs, threrefore, threy will hrave a number of diferent
roles available, whrichr workers can chroose to apply for.
An example of an employment agency in thre UK is All Personnel Recruitment Ltd based in Coldhram’s
Road, Cambridge. Threy hrelp fnd jobs in thre divisions of Constructon, Engineering Utlites and
Warehrousing. Workers whro are looking for a job will sign up for notfcaton if threre is a job role
whrichr is looking to hrave a place flled, and employers can sign up to fnd any employers whro are
looking for employment.

Whren looking for a job, a companies website may be used to fnd and apply for thre chrosen role. Thris
is done to make it quicker and simpler for a worker to apply for a job, rathrer thran applying from a
specifc external website. Jobs can be found in thre job vacancy, careers or othrer similarly named
sectons of thre business, whrichr can be found in thre categories of thre website or at thre botom of thre
page. Resources will vary from website to website, withr some containing PDF documents shrowing
whrat threy are looking for in a worker, whrile some are simply shrowing thre jobs whrichr are on ofer.
An example of a business whrichr hras a website page to advertse its jobs is cDonalds. Threse jobs are
all located on one page and can be refned using diferent optons, including locaton, job positon
and responsibilites. Thris is due to thre hrugely diferent job roles available, from crew worker to
delivery driver to warehrouse worker, whrichr needs to be advertsed on thre same website to reduce
costs.

Thre next source used by a lot people in thre UK and worldwide would be job centers and in thre UK,
threre is a lot of threm whrichr makes it easier for people to fnd a decent job for thremselves withrout
hraving to travel to multple places and asking. Thris methrod is a lot more traditonal and simple whrichr
means thrat most of thre older people will use thris methrod due to threm being used to it. You can go
into a job center and talk to people face to face to fgure out whrat you want to do career wise and
look for a job whrichr meets your demands. Threse are non-proftable organizatons whrichr support and
aid people in fnding jobs to reduce hromelessness and reduce thre amount of people whrichr don’t
work and sit at hrome claiming benefts. Threse centers hrelp people in creatng threir CV’s, writng
cover leters and anythring else whrichr may be needed to hrelp thre person in fnding a job now or in
thre future. Centers also advertse throusands of jobs in thre area as well as across thre country to hrelp
people fnd whrat threy are looking for.

Anothrer source used mostly by younger people would be career advisors whrichr are usually hrelping
out people in schrools, colleges and othrer public places. Threse people are hrighrly trained in threir
positon and threir role is to do everythring in threir power to hrelp people, usually teenagers to fnd a
career suitable for threm. Threy hrelp threm fnd a positon in a job role whrichr will interest threm and
whrere threy believe threy would beneft and grow thre most as an individual. Thris source is very good
and very useful for younger people as afer threir educaton threy need to fnd somethring to do and
