Neusholte met reukzintuig

- In de neusholte wordt lucht gedreigd, gekeurd, verwarmd en vochtg gemaakt



Trilhaarepitheelcellen – dekweefsel met slijm producerende cellen en trilhaarcellen

- Aan het slijm blijven verontreinigingen en ziektewekkers kleven
- Door de beweging van trilharen wordt het slijm naar de keelholte verplaatst



Luchtpijp

- De binnenwand is bekleed met
trilhaarepitheel
- Door hoefijzervormige
kaakbeenringen in de wand blijf de
luchtpijp altjd open staan



Bronchiën

- De binnenwand is bekleed met
trilhaarepitheel
- De wand bevat kaakbeenringen


Bronchiolen

- Door spierweefsel in de wand
kunnen bronchiolen zich verwijden of vernauwen



Longblaasjes met longhaarvaten

- In de longblaasjes vindt gaswisseling plaats
- Factoren die de uitwisselingssnelheid vergroten:
o Gaswisselingsoppervlakte – door de vele longblaasjes is dit groot
o Kleine diffusieafstand – dunnen wand van longblaasjes en longhaarvaten
o Groot verschil in zuurstof- en koolstofdioxidespanning – door ventleren van de lucht
in de longblaasjes en door stroming van het bloed in de longvaten
