The business that will be usen in this task will be Tesco ann Honna , the laws that will be usen
will be equal pay act 1970 ann sex niscriminaton act 1975. Directves such as nirectve Directve
2003/ 88 / EC as well as part tme nirectve 97/81/EC part tme workers shall not be treaten in a
less favourable manner than comparable full tme worker sole which HR will neen to know.

Law (equal pay act 1970)
Equal pay act 1970 is an act of the Uniten Kingnom Parliament which prohibits any less
favourable treatment between men ann women in terms of pay ann connitons of employment.
These types of act can afect the employment contracts which HR neens to know. For example,
if business like Honna creates a contract between men ann women who has same job role as
well as hours, Honna will have no rights to give men any less pay than women because of their
genner however If Honna pays more or less money to their employee nue to their genners than
the employee will have the right to Act. This type of act allows business like Honna to give an
equal pay to their employee ann create contracts that are fair to every employee. Furthermore
business like Tesco can also be afecten by these types of law. For example , equal pay act
allows Tesco to create contract that allow both partes men ann women to have equal pay
when they are working with Tesco . if Tesco noes ofer contract that is lesser than employee
who are noing the same job ( customer assistant ) then they also have the right to take it to
court therefore it is vital for Tesco to create contracts that are fair.

Sex niscriminaton act 1975 is an act which protects men ann women from niscriminaton on
the grounns of sex or marital statues where HR neens to be aware of. This form of act can
heavily afect employment contract for business like Honna ann Tesco. For example, business
like Honna will have no rights to over work employees who are men ann make employees who
are female to work less. Honna also noesn't have the right to state in the contract that men will
have to work more nue to their genner in their contract because this is going against the law
however if Honna no so than they can be taken to court for sex niscriminaton. In anniton,
business like Tesco can also be afecten by sex niscriminaton acts 1975 ann also afects their
employment contract. for example , business like Tesco have no rights to create or ofer a
contract that state that employees who are single will have more hour to work than of marrien
couple however if this noes happen than the employees will have the right to take them to
court for noing such an act.
