Pay and working conditions
One of ethical issues that a business like Primark needs to consider is their employees pay and
working environment. For example, the article above shows that one of Primark’s factories that got
collapsed killing 250 people. This is an ethical issue because it is morally wrong for Primark to provide
extremely bad working conditions to their workers. When working for a well-known business like
Primark, employees should not only be entitled for minimum wage and holidays but also the
environment they are working in, no worker should be working in harsh environment that could
harm their health. Primark is addressing this issue by making sure that the factories that they are
working with are getting regular check-ups by sending 2000 audits a year to check the working
environment in the factory. They have said that “We only work with suppliers and factories that
respect the rights of their workforce and meet our standards which are based on international
guidelines. We carry out over 2000 audits a year to check these standards are met”. Primark has also
included 360 video of their factories showing good working environments for their employees.
Environmental consideration
Another ethical issue that Primark needs to be considered about is the environment. For example,
China and India is one of the largest CO2 emitters and this is where Primark’s factories are. The
