Becoming an Special Agent would allow me to apply my knowledge of criminal behavior and the CJS while utilizing my research and analytical skills to protect my country from violent crimes and terrorism -I chose to apply for the special agent at the ATF because i am particularly passionate about assisting in investigating and combating illegal firearm trafficking and violent crimes associated with firearms -when working as a VWA in LDC, firearm related offenses were very common. while some offenders possessed the firearms lawfully many did not. the presence of the firearms in our cases exacerbated the severity of the case and threatened the safety of not only the alleged victims/witnesses but also the community. there were several cases where injuries or fatalities could have been prevented if the offender hadn't had access to firearms. since i frequently saw and assisted in managing the aftermath of firearm related offenses, i am passionate about protecting our nation and enhancing public safety through combating illegal firearm trafficking and violent crimes -Through my collegiate education and work experience with the Middlesex District Attorney's Office, I have developed a deep understanding of criminal behavior as well as strong research, investigative, and analytical skills.
