Automation testing interview questions answers AUTOMATION TESTING INTERVIEW QUESTION PART -1 1. WHAT TYPES OF TESTING CAN BE AUTOMATED? We can automate Functional Testing, Load and Performance Testing. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. POPULAR FUNCTIONAL TESTING TOOLS? Selenium, Tosca, QTP/UFT, Rational Functional Tester, SilkTest, Test Partner --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. POPULAR PERFORMANCE TESTING TOOLS? LoadRunner, J-Meter, QA Load, WebLoad, NeoLoad, Rational Performance Tester, Silk Performer --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4. POPULAR PROJECT /TEST MANAGEMENT TOOLS Jira , QC / ALM --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5. WHAT TYPE OF PROJECT AUTOMATION TESTING SUITABLE? 1. Agile Model Project, 2. Maintenance and Support Project, 3. If there are multiple versions then every new version need to be retested then we will go for automation (For v-model and waterfall model automation testing is never used) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6. EXPLAIN FEW SCENARIOS WHICH CAN’T BE AUTOMATED? Few security scenarios like captcha, OTP relevant features cannot be automated. e.g. Select all bicycle in this pictures. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7. WHAT IS A DATATYPE? WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT DATATYPES IN JAVA? Data types specify the different sizes and values that can be stored in the variable. There are two types of data types in Java: 1. Primitive data types: The primitive data types include boolean, char, byte, short, int, long, float and double. 2. Non-primitive data types: The non-primitive data types include Classes, Interfaces, and Arrays. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 8. WHAT IS REFERENCE DATATYPES? Java provide many pre-defined classes like - Classes in java: String, Object, File, FileInputStream Classes in Selenium: Webdriver, WebElement Any Java or Selenium Class can be used as reference datatypes. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9. WHAT IS ARRAY AND ARRAY LIST IN JAVA? Sr.No ARRAY ARRAYLIST 1. Array is fixed size data structure. Arraylist is a resizable array/data structure.i.e.Size gets incresed 2. Array is basic functionality. Arraylist is a class of java. 3. Array can store Primitive datatype and Objects. Arraylist can save Reference datatype, Objects & Generics. 4. Array is faster due to its static behaviour. Arraylist is slower due to its dynamic behaviour. 5. Array uses ‘length’ keyword to count the number of elements stored in a Array. Arraylist uses size keyword to count the number of elements stored in a Arraylist. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 10. WHEN TO USE SWITCH CASE? Whenever there is a need to check multiple possible conditions and for the ease of readability switch case is being used. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 11. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WHILE LOOP & DO WHILE LOOP? Sr.No. While Loop Do While Loop 1. While loop checks the condition at the bottom of the loop. Do while loop checks the condition at the beginning of the loop. 2. Only if the condition is satisfies the while loop is executed. Do while loop is executed at least once in its life time for both condition true or false. 3. Both are conditional statements ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 12. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FOR LOOP AND FOR EACH LOOP? Sr.No. FOR LOOP FOR EACH LOOP 1. FOR LOOP is used to execute the code for the range of elements given in the conditional statement. FOR EACH LOOP is used to execute the code for each and every element present in the for each loop. 2. It is a flexible loop i.e. increment & decrement operator is used. It is not flexible i.e. increment & decrement operator isn’t used. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 13. WHAT IS AN EXCEPTION? HOW TO HANDLE EXCEPTIONS IN JAVA? Any runtime error that interrupt our program execution is called an exception. Java provided a try…catch mechanism to handle it. At first, java executes the code inside the try block. If an exception occurs java suspends the exception, skip the remaining statements in the try block and goes to either by a catch or finally block. try{ statement 1; statement n; } Catch(Exception e) { statement n; } Keyword Description Try This keyword is used to specify a block and this block must be followed by either catch or finally. That is, we can’t use try block alone. Catch This keyword must be preceded by a try block to handle the exception and can be followed by a final block later. Finally This keyword is used to execute the program, whether an exception is handled or not. Throw This keyword is used to throw an exception. throws This keyword is used to declare exceptions. finally This continues until the exception either is caught or falls through all catches.Any code that must be executed irrespective of occurrence of an exception is put in a finally block. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 14. WHAT IS A CLASS IN JAVA? A Java class is a programming template used to describe the properties using variables and functionalities using methods of any real time entity. Variables and methods are collectively called as members. Based on its usage members are of 2 types - static and non-static type. Based on the scope – Local and Global ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 14. DIFFERENT TYPES OF VARIABLES IN JAVA?
