Varicocele - A disorder most common in adolexcent males is varicocele - a tortouous enlargement of veins in the spermatic cord. It affects the left spermatic cord more often than the right, can be painful and may cause infertility. Varicocele can be treated with surgical ligation (tying off) of the spermatic vein. (varic/o: varicose vein, -cele: hernia).
