System 1 and System 2: System 1 depends on pertinent remembrance, cues and thinking heuristic to arrive rapidly and confidently at perceptions. According to , “System 1 produces the fast, intuitive reactions and instantaneous decisions that govern most of our lives”. To get myself though my day, I always think about my everyday functions. An example of system 1 in my personal life would be using a toothbrush to brush my teeth and I do not have to think about on how fast I brush my teeth, I just do it. In my opinion, system 2 means to assume is logical, deliberate, attentive and effortful. “System 2 engages at various times- especially when system 1 encounters something out of the ordinary”. “Argument making is often part of the inference and deliberation process when making system 2 decisions” (Gittens, F). I have a dog, and he tends to bark all the time. Just because my dog barks, it does not mean he hears anything, or someone is knocking at my door.
