RBT EXAM QUESTIONS WITH 100% CORRECT ANSWERS
Frequency - A direct measure. Count. Counting the number of cartwheels, steps or words spoken. Think, "How many instances occurred?" or "How many times did that happen?" is an example of - Frequency Rate - count per obser time (often expressed as per minute, per session, etc.); duration - Total extent of time that a behavior occurs. Direct; (continuous) measurement. Also known as temporal extent. Latency - Time from onset of a stimulus to initiation of the response. Another way to think about this is: how long it takes for someone to respond to a cue, prompt, question, etc. Interresponse Time (IRT) - The time between the end of one response and the beginning of another (same) response. What does increasing IRT mean? - lowering overall rate of behavior What does decreasing IRT mean? - increasing the rate of behavior. Direct Measurement - Behavior is actually observed; it is the same behavior that is the focus of the data collection. Partial interval - behavior is recorded as occurring, if it occurs at least once during the predetermined interval. Whole Interval - A behavior is recorded as occurring if it is observed throughout an entire predetermined interval. Momentary time sampling - when (at the end of a predetermined interval) a recording is made if the target behavior is occurring AT THAT MOMENT. 3 types of functional assessment procedrures - indirect, descriptive, and functional analysis indirect assessments - gather information without actual direct observation of the behavior in question. Think of interviews with parents, caregivers and teachers. Descriptive measures` - actual observation of the behavior and surrounding events. Use of ABC recording is quite common. This unconditioned reinforcer - food, sleep, shelter, sex -- unlearned conditioned reinforcement - stimulus reinforces set behaviors through associations w/ primary reinforcer ex: $$$ unconditioned punishment - unlearned ex: touching a hot stove conditioned punishment - learned example- associating all stoves as hot fixed raito - reinforcement based on fixed # of responses fixed interval - reinforcement 1st response after set duration of time since last response variable ratio - variable # of responses required for reinforcement variable interval - reimbursement for 1st correct response following variable duration of time what type of operation is involved in satiation and deprivation? - manipulating motivating operations stimulus generalization - behavior that is evoked when encountering similar stimuli If someone says plane and points to one in the sky, then a child points to all flying objects and says plane - stimulus generalization If you can identify a plane across many environments - stimulus discrimination call something a plane, airplane, aircraft, airliner, etc all meaning the same thing - response generalization you know all things mean airplane - response discrimination motivating operation - deprivation/satiation discriminative stimuli - signal cue that has in the past signaled to reinforcement Diff rein of other behaviors (DRO) - A girl who picks the skin of her palm is given a token (good for 1 minute of Candy Crush - a video game) for every 15 minutes that she doesn't pick her palm. Differential Reinforcement of ALTERNATIVE behaviors (DRA)- - speaking out in class, reinforcing behavior of raising hand Differential Reinforcement of INCOMPATIBLE behaviors (DRI)- - sucking thumb and putting hands in pickets extinction - to terminate reinforcement of a behavior to reduce and eventually extinguish a target behavior. extinction burst - a behavior may get worse before it gets better, the burst refers to a temporary
