Angst: een normale reactie op een angstopwekkende prikkel. Het is een van onzeemoties.
Emoties: specifieke gedachten, gevoelens, lichamelijke verschijnselen of
gedragingen.
Arousal: een lichamelijke reactie die uit angst voortkomt.
Anticipatieangst of vermijdingsgedrag: wanneer de angst ertoe leidt dat de
persoon het huis niet meer uit durft, het gene probeert te vermijden etc.
Pathologische angst: de angst is te groot en voor een niet bedreigende situatie.
De DSM-5 verdeeld angststoornissen in 3 groepen:
1. Angststoornissen
2. Obsessieve-compulsieve en verwante stoornissen
3. Trauma- en stress gerelateerde stoornissen (Deze is van H5 en die hoef je niet te
leren)
Separatie angststoornis: iemand is overdreven bang als die van huis is of weg van
de hechtingspersonen.
Selectief mutisme: kinderen die erg verlegen en sociaal angstig zijn, praten
consequent niet in situaties waarin dit van hen verwacht wordt. (Bijvoorbeeld op
school)
Paniekaanval: een plotseling opkomende aanval van angst, die samengaat met een
heleboel lichamelijke verschijnselen waarbij iemand bang is om dood te gaan, de
controle te verliezen over zichzelf of om gek te worden. Na 10 minuten bereikt het
zijn hoogtepunt en neemt daarna weer af in hevigheid.
o Cardiopulmonale symptomen (in hart en borst):
- Pijn of onaangenaam gevoel op borst
- Gevoelens van verstikking of ademnood
- Gevoel naar adem te snakken
- Hartkloppingen, bonzend hart of een versnelde hartslag
o Autonome symptomen (door hele lichaam):
- Transpireren
- Koude rillingen of opvliegers
o Gastro-intestinale symptomen (in buik):
- Misselijkheid of maag/buikklachten
o Neurologische symptomen (hersenen):
- Trillen of beven
- Paresthesie (verdoofde of tintelende gevoelens)
- Gevoel van duizeligheid, onvastheid, licht in hoofd of flauwvallen
o Psychiatrische symptomen:
- De realisatie (gevoelens van onwerkelijkheid)
- Depersonalisatie (gevoel vervreemd te zijn van jezelf)
- Vrees om zelfbeheersing te verliezen of gek te worden
- Vrees om dood te gaan
Agorafobie: het vermijdingsgedrag waarbij situaties die paniekaanvallen kunnen
opwekken, worden vermeden.
