Availability Zone - (essentially) a data center or collection of data centers, isolated from each other to avoid failure, low latency between each other Region - An independent collection of AWS resources in a defined geography (with 2 or more Availability Zones). Edge Location - A cloud delivery network (CDN) for end points, it's a place to cache data. Basically caching data locally for faster future downloads. There are currently more of these than Availability Zones. Virtual Private Cloud - (VPC) A virtual data center where you deploy your assets. Can have more than one in a region. VPCs can connect to each other. Good for when you need a good connection for pushing big files. EC2 - VMs in the cloud in AWS EC2 Container Services - scalable, high performance, container management service, supports Docker, ability to run applications on a managed cluster of EC2 instances. Elastic Beanstalk - Deploy code into AWS through Elastic Beanstalk and they will provision all the underlying infrastructure
