Future continuous[B1] Je gebruikt de future continuous voor een aantal situaties:
• om uit te drukken dat iets in de toekomst ‘aan de gang zal zijn’
• voor een bestaand plan
• als dingen (vrijwel) zeker zullen gebeuren
• om aan te geven waar je jezelf in de toekomst ziet
• in combinatie met still geef je aan dat je verwacht dat een situatie die er nu is, zich in de toekomst
zal voortzetten
• I will still be working when you arrive tonight.

Let op! Het gebruik van de present continuous heeft dezelfde betekenis: After the meeting we're
having dinner at The Unicorn.

[B1] Je maakt een future continuous met shall be of will be gevolgd door de ing-vorm van het
werkwoord.
Let op: will is dus altijd goed, shall wordt meestal alleen gebruikt bij I of we in formelere situaties.
Je kunt de korte vorm 'll gebruiken bij informeel schrijven en spreektaal. Het wordt dan meestal

bij I en we. Het wordt minder gebruikt in modern Engels en dan meestal alleen in formelere
situaties.
