HUM 115 Week 4 Solving Personal Problems (Applying the five step model) (2)HUM 115 Week 4 Solving Personal Problems (Applying the five step model) Solving Personal Problems: Applying the Five-Step Model HUM/115 – Critical Thinking in Everyday LifeDescribe the Five-Step Model Step one of the Five-Step Model asks us what is the problem. In order to solve a problem one has to identify the problem, acknowledge that one exists and commit to resolving said problem (Chaffee, 2015). Step two is what are the alternatives. Once you understand what your problem is, you have to figure out what actions are needed to solve the problem (Chaffee, 2015). After you figure out what actions are needed, you need to determine what actions are feasible and which are not. Step three is to figure out what the advantages and disadvantages are of all the alternatives. Once we know what the alternatives are we must examine each one and see which will be more beneficial and which will not be. Step four is to figure out the solution to our problem. Once we have analyzed our problem, we have to try and figure out the best solution to fix our problem. Step five is how well the solution is working. In this step we look to see if the solution we came up with to fix our problem is working. If it is not working, we need to figure out what we can change or add to make it work.
