Aviation Human Factors The aviation industry today has an unprecedented safety level which is a great achievement considering that air traffic is growing and every new aeroplane becomes more sophisticated. One of the reasons is improved technology. However, without a competent crew, the technology would not be helpful. Furthermore, approximately 80% of maintenance errors in the aviation industry are caused by human factors and, if not noticed early, would cause accidents. Therefore, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) identified the top 12 human factors that threaten the aviation maintenance crew, but the lack of communication, stress, and distractions could be the most dangerous mistakes.
