P6 – Challenges that businesses face

All the businesses will have to face challenge in order to start the business or throughout the
business or while the business is still running. Similarly eBay will also have to face many challenges in
order to start the business or throughout the business.

1. The first challenge that eBay had to face when the business started is the setup costs which
is important of all because eBay will have to pay for the website design which will cost eBay
money, eBay will also have to make sure that they hire an experienced person to design the
website because it should be the best of all. In addition to start a business eBay will also
have to pay for the adverting which could have been done online and they will also have to
design the app in order to attract more customers. These are all the costs that will be
needed in order to start the business.

2. The second important challenge that the business will have to face is the payment security.
Which means that eBay will have to make sure that the payment that they receive online
from the customers are secure and so that it can’t be hack, in order to do that the business
will have to keep payment security like the firewalls, technology protection and the
information that the customers give like their bank details are secure. However now eBay
uses PayPal which is safe and very easy to make the transaction people trust PayPal more so
that the business has connect with PayPal to attract more customers. The eBay customers
trust PayPal because they will not have to give personal details to a website they might not
trust.

3. Legal complexity is also a challenge for the business because all the business will have to
follow the rules that is made by the law for example the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which
means that the customers have right to change or return the product they buy if the product
is faulty. However, eBay have to make sure that they are following the rules and if they are
not following the rules they might will have to pay a fine. Also the legal complexity comes in
while checking the advertisement or posters before they launch to the customers because
they will also have to follow the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, which means that
they are not allow to copy or businesses logo or advertisement or neither the posters. The
law will make sure they are not any misleading information.

4. The fourth challenge that all the businesses have to face is the search engine optimisation
and its cost which means they the business have to pay for their webpage to come at the
top of the page, in a specific website which could be google, Bing or even Yahoo. For
example, if a person searches for eBay on google and the official website doesn’t turn up on
the top and comes at the bottom of the page, which suggests that the customers will not
scroll down and click at the first few websites which comes at the top of the page so that
eBay will have to pay google to make their website come at the top of the page. eBay have
to pay for their website to appear at the top of the page.

5. Keeping up with the change is also the fifth challenge for all the business. eBay will also have
to make sure that they do daily updates and they also have to make sure that all the changes
they do will have to go on their websites. For example, if eBay diversified then they will have
to upload it on the internet and their website, if the businesses didn’t keep up with the
change they are going to be left behind and they will not be able to attract more customers.
Businesses just don’t keep up with the change but they make the change, and there is a
